The report is presented in the midst of several cases of aggression, femicide and disappearance of women, girls and adolescents in different states, including that of Debanhi Escobar, found dead last Thursday in Escobedo, Nuevo León.
In this regard, reporters questioned Rosa Icela Rodríguez about a possible “intentional bias” in the official figures that show a decrease in the crime of femicide.
“It is the state prosecutor’s offices that provide a report on the crimes, not just the crime of femicide. How do we know that these data are real? Every day there is a report from each member of the state and federal authorities,” replied the official.
In addition, he referred that before there was no criminalization of the crime of femicide: “From 2015 it was criminalized, but it was until 2019 that the 32 states were integrated into the femicide report. Now it is already done, it is already reported. We still need, but We are on that path,” he added.
To strengthen the figures, Rosa Icela Rodríguez listed some cases so far in 2022, such as:
- The rescue of 12 people, mostly women, reported as not located in the state of Oaxaca. One of the rescued people is Aisha, 15, who was allegedly hooked through social networks for the purpose of sexual exploitation. There is only one woman arrested in this case.
- The capture of Israel N, of Venezuelan origin, for his alleged responsibility in the disappearance and femicide of his partner, a woman reported as not located after traveling to the port of Acapulco.
- The location of the body of Nayeli Alfaro, reported missing in San Luis Potosí. José Manuel N was arrested in Ecatepec, State of Mexico, for the femicide of Athena, 13 years old.
- The location of the body of Karla, 22 years old. The victim’s cousin was linked to the process.
- Ranferi Concepción, arrested in Morelos for his probable responsibility in the femicide of Laura Janet, 19 years old.
- The Querétaro Prosecutor’s Office arrested Salvador N, who allegedly strangled Victoria, 6 years old.
- A subject was arrested who stabbed his niece and her daughter on public roads, whom he had threatened with death so that they would not reveal the sexual abuse he committed against the minor.
- Raúl Alfredo N was arrested for the femicide of María Fernanda, in Nuevo León.
