Medellín authorities will deploy more than 1,300 agents to guarantee a calm and safe Halloween day.
As explained by the Secretary of Security of Medellín, Manuel Villa, There will be more than 1,350 people who will be accompanying the schemes in different parts of the city to seek a quiet and familiar day for all citizens, especially for minors.
These will be divided as follows: more than 1,000 uniformed police officers and more than 350 people from the Secretariats of Security and Mobility.
Furthermore, he assured that Members of the National Army will be located at strategic points in the mountain capital to support rapid reaction groups and avoid any disturbance to public order.
The official indicated that these motorized reaction groups will be in constant movement throughout the city with the purpose of guaranteeing, not only the safety of those who want to enjoy this day of costumes, but also, in accordance with what has happened in recent years, to be able to control any attempt at social indiscipline with the famous rides.
“We are going to carry out checks with the Police, the Army, the Ministry of Security and Mobility, in front of the famous roundabouts. People know that they can move through the streets, but What we do not tolerate is doing so contrary to traffic rules, much less putting the integrity of others at risk.“said the official.
He maintained that “they have to have a helmet, the license plate visible, They cannot carry out maneuvers that put their integrity at risk. and much less about other people; They cannot make blocks or risky maneuvers. “We will be there, with all our capabilities, to guarantee and protect that people can enjoy this day in peace.”
The secretary (e) of Mobility, Luis Eduardo Echeverri, reported that today they will accompany a ride that is authorized from this agency, which It will be supervised by 25 traffic agents. and compliance with traffic regulations.
The security schemes will also be reinforced by the more than 3,500 cameras of the Integrated Emergency and Security System. The teams will be attentive to quickly prevent crowds, unauthorized caravans and events that could put public safety and tranquility at risk.
