Officials from the mayor’s office of the Guanta municipality, together with security and prevention agencies, maintain information and service points in the Parque Guaraguao residential complex in Gloveafter the explosion that left one person dead and 10 others injured, as well as structural damage.
The chief of staff of citizen security and director of the integrated system of Civil Protection and Firefighters of the state of Anzoátegui, Power Cano Nieto reported that the inspection and investigation of the fire and explosion investigation department of the fire department was completed and that they are waiting for the technical report.
He confirmed that part of block 10, where the explosion and fire occurred, will be demolished, and the structural damage to the other 19 towers, especially 9, 11 and 12, is being evaluated.
Meanwhile, the director of PC in Guanta, Miguel Hurtado explained that the information points are maintained in the urban planning and in protection of the damaged tower, which was evacuated, in its entirety, and protecting the place in general.
He reported that Pdvsa Gas personnel continue to review the main gas distribution system, in order to prevent future incidents and guarantee the safety of the community.
For her part, Mayor Natali Bello indicated that together with the condominium board and families of the residential complex, comprehensive care for all the families who live there is coordinated.
“The first action in general, at the request of the neighbors, was the review of the gas system in the towers and apartments, although we still do not have a preliminary report on the causes. The inhabitants requested, in a meeting with delegates from the towers, the evaluation by PDVSA Gas. The Fire Department, Civil Protection, Corpoelec, PDVSA Gas, the mayor’s office and the governor’s office remain on site supporting and accompanying the neighbors clinging to God as always,” Bello explained.
This urban planning is made up of 14 towers of 4 floors each.
The night of last Thursday, October 17, the explosion and subsequent fire occurred, damaging 10 vehicles and due to the shock wave, windows of structures near the site of the event were affected.
On the morning of Friday the 18th, the death of Yarelis Rodríguez (48), injured in the explosion, was reported.
She and her children, ages 7, 13, and 19, who lived in tower 10 of the residential complex, suffered serious burns.
