The president of the Permanent Commission for Security and Defense of the Nation, deputy Jesús Suárez Chourio, reported that the body under his charge closes 2024 with a positive balance.
After submitting to the Secretariat of the National Assembly (AN) the commission’s report on the activities of the entire year, Suárez Chourio indicated that the balance shows each of the 30 meetings held in 2024.
The report also highlights the 29 agreements, approved unanimously, among them the one referring to the 32nd anniversary of the Bolivarian Military Patriotic Youth Rebellion of February 4, 1992 and Day of National Dignity, the A.N. on your web portal.
Also noteworthy is the agreement for the 229 years of the birth of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio José de Sucre y Alcalá, among others no less important such as the one that was submitted to the General Command of the Army, approved by the Plenary of the AN, to commemorate the 211 years since the proclamation of Simón Bolívar as The Liberator, and the 236th anniversary of the birth of General Rafael Urdaneta.
There are also the agreements to commemorate the third anniversary of the Social Movement of the Bolivarian Active Reserve, a commitment and historical legacy with Commander Chávez and the Father Liberator; the 274th anniversary of the birth of Francisco de Miranda, hero of Venezuelan independence; and that of the 202 years of the Battle of Bomboná, on April 7, 1822.
In addition, the commemoration of the events that occurred on April 11, 12 and 13, 2002, in defense of democracy and constitutionality, against the attempts of the fascist right to carry out a coup d’état against the constitutional president Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías ; and the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Bolivarian Militia, on April 13, 2009.
Likewise, for the bicentennial of the Battle of Junín; the 205 years of the Battle of Boyacá; the commemoration of the 211 years of the Admirable Campaign, the Day of the Patriotic Soldier; and the bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho, on December 9, 1824.
For the 104th anniversary of the creation of the Bolivarian Military Aviation and the 32nd anniversary of the heroic deed of November 27, 1992, the Permanent Commission for Security and Defense of the Nation held an ordinary meeting to commemorate his day, his bravery and commitment with the country.
Likewise, the subcommittees of the National Armed Forces and Comprehensive Development: Border and Territorial Integrity; and Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, held 34 meetings during 2024.
