The Bocas del Toro Regional Prosecutor’s Office carried out new procedures on Isla Peterson, in the district of Kusapín, managing to obtain interviews from the victims and other residents of the place after the events that occurred on April 12, where the alleged members of a religious sect committed attacks to the detriment of minors and adults.

For this reason, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office charged five people on April 15, 2023 for their alleged connection with crimes against life and personal integrity in the modalities of attempted femicide and deprivation of liberty; in addition, against the legal and family order in the modality of child abuse, which are maintained with a measure of provisional detention for the end of the investigation.
