Secretary General of OPEC Mohammad Barkindo arrived in Venezuela

On Friday night, Mohammad Barkindo, Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), arrived in Venezuela; who was received by a high-level delegation from the Bolivarian Government headed by the Minister of Popular Power for Agriculture and Land, Wilmer Castro Soteldo.

“The High-Level Delegation of the Bolivarian Government honorably greets His Excellency, Mohammad Barkindo, Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), on his visit to our country.” He described the Ministry of People’s Power for Petroleum through his account on the social network twitter.

In another trill, the agency reported that Barkindo’s visit seeks to enhance the strategic and leading role of Venezuela. “The visit of his Excellency to the country, the Secretary General of OPEC, Mohammad Barkindo, seeks to exalt the strategic and leading role of Venezuela, during his 6-year mandate.”

Likewise, the Ministry of Petroleum points out on the social network that “the visit of His Excellency, Mohammad Barkindo, Secretary General of OPEC, aims to thank President @NicolasMaduro, the Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan People, for all the support provided to their two management periods (2016-2019 and 2019-2022)».

Upon his arrival in the country, Venezuelan authorities paid tribute to the presence of His Excellency Mohammad Barkindo for his career and contribution to multilateralism and peace diplomacy.

«The High-Level Delegation of the Bolivarian Government pays tribute to his legacy and trajectory, because he has consolidated multilateralism, diplomacy and Peace».

They stressed that “Venezuela’s relationship with OPEC has been strengthened, thanks to the joint work between President Nicolás Maduro and the organization’s Secretary General, Mohammad Barkindo.”
