The Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Producing Countries (OPEC), Haitham Al Ghais, met this Wednesday with the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Yellow housein Caracas, served to narrow the cooperation ties between the organization and Venezuela.
Al Ghais arrived in the country on Tuesday as part of the organization’s 62nd anniversary and to review the energy agenda that seeks to stabilize the world oil market.
Earlier, accompanied by Venezuelan authorities, the Secretary General of OPEC visited the Mausoleum of Liberator Simon Bolivarin Caracas, to pay tribute to the Venezuelan hero.
Subsequently, he toured the facilities of Petroleum of Venezuela (PDVSA), located in La Campiña, Caracas, where it participated in the events organized for the anniversary of the Organization of Petroleum Producing Countries.
At the ceremony, the Secretary General indicated that Venezuela, as a member of the organization, plays a unique role in the successes achieved, and in acting through the ideas of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, with the principles of unity and respect for national sovereignty.
