The Ombudsman’s Office hides information about the individual scores given by each member of the special commission to the interviewed candidates.
The management of the ombudsman, Joshua Gutierrezhas chosen hide information relevant to the recent selection process for new members of the National Board of Justice (JNJ), in relation to the interview round.
On October 28, The Republic formally requested, through a letter of access to public information, the details of the score given by each member of the special commission for the election of the JNJ to each of the fifteen applicants who participated in the interview round.
Only on November 13 did we obtain a response from the technical secretary of the special commission Manuel Balladares, who functionally depends on the Ombudsman’s Office. However, in the document They do not provide the requested informationbut rather, they simply refer us to the website where the general resolutions are with the averages of the qualifications awarded to each applicant at the interview stage.
Given this evasive attitude towards compliance with the Transparency Law, on November 14, we once again insisted on the requirement to access the details of the score given by each member of the special commission chaired by Josué Gutiérrez to the applicants. However, the technical secretariat chose to no longer respond to the request.
Due to this attitude of secrecy, for the moment, it is impossible to know what detailed score each authority member of the commission gave to the applicants and whether or not there was favoration.
