The General Directorate of Secondary Education (DGES) implemented the second edition of the Bimodal Accreditation Course, to which 390 secondary education students from 65 educational centers throughout the country enrolled in 2022. The general director of Secondary, Jenifer Cherro, explained that the new actions allow us to focus on students and make it easier for schools to be attentive to their needs.
In a dialogue with the Presidential Communication, Cherro explained that this type of course is part of a series of strategies implemented by this distribution, in order to promote continuity.
He recalled that this new device allows teachers to be closer to young people and accompany them in an integral way, so that they can successfully complete the educational cycles. He stressed that the results are part of a process and that the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP) is convinced that this is the path to follow.
This year, more than 52 groups were created that have designated tutors, the subjects with the largest number of students enrolled are Mathematics, Physics and History.
In this sense, he reported that 7,000 hours of tutoring were added to accompany young people during the year, a time that increased from 3,026 to 10,026, since April.
The purpose of the Bimodal Accreditation Course is to contribute to the curricular continuity of students promoted in the 2019 and 2020 school years of the Basic Cycle and Baccalaureate, Plan 2006, who must pass subjects corresponding to two courses prior to the date and are unable to enroll. on the top level.
On the other hand, he reported that in September the General Directorate of Secondary Education will enable a new exam period so that high school students can take pending subjects.
The incorporation of these tools foresees to avoid the curricular backwardness. Cherro pointed out that the fundamental idea is to emphasize the student and that educational centers are attentive to their needs.
