Security forces recorded at least 102 electoral crimes across the country in this second round of municipal elections. The highest incidence was exit polls, with 34 occurrences, six in São Paulo and five in Fortaleza. Irregular electoral propaganda actions totaled 19 cases, three in the city of Paulista (PE), followed by 14 attempts to buy votes, with five incidents in Manaus. In total, the crimes resulted in 42 arrests of voters, eight of which were based on arrests in the act.
The data was released in a report by the National Integrated Command and Control Center (CICCN), of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
Money and weapons
The ministry also announced that, as evidence of the crimes, R$12,059 in cash were seized, in addition to 4,464 irregularly used campaign materials. Two weapons were also collected at polling places and voters were charged with illegal possession. Both cases occurred in the city of São Paulo.
There were no arrests of mayoral candidates this Sunday.
The Ministry of Justice reported in the report that, in the 51 municipalities where there was a second shift, a total of 45,967 security professionals were employed, using 6,507 vehicles, in addition to 26 boats and 13 aircraft.
