In the final stretch for the second round of presidential and 12 state government elections, candidates and voters must be aware of some deadlines set out in the electoral calendar. Public meetings, rallies and the use of fixed sound systems will be prohibited after midnight.
Closing rallies of the campaign, however, could be extended by another two hours.
Since the 25th, no voter can be arrested or detained, except in cases of flagrante delicto or by virtue of a criminal conviction for a non-bailable crime. People who impede the right of voters to move freely may also be arrested. These two measures are valid for up to 48 hours after the election.
Today (27), is the last day for the regional electoral courts to disclose, on the internet, the data transmission points that will operate in locations other than the place of operation of the electoral board.
Also today, the period begins for the electoral court or the president of the receiving board to issue a safe-conduct in favor of voters who may suffer moral or physical violence.

Tomorrow (28), will be the last day for free electoral propaganda on radio and television, as well as paid advertising in the written press and internet reproduction of the printed newspaper. It is also the last day for the debate on radios and TVs.
Saturday (29), the eve of the second round, will be the last day for broadcasting electoral propaganda made through loudspeakers, sound amplifiers, distribution of pamphlets, walking, motorcade or march. On the same day, the polling stations that will be submitted to electronic voting audits will be defined.

October 30th arrives, the date on which Brazilians will choose who will preside over the country for the next four years; and the 12 governors of the federative units that will have a second round next Sunday.
Voting will begin at 8 am and end at 5 pm, Brasília time. Unlike what happened in past elections, in this election the voting schedule will be uniform across the country. In other words: regions where there is a different time zone will follow Brasília time.
With a reliable and secure electronic electoral system, Brazil will start counting as soon as the elections end on Sunday, and the expectation is to know the result in a few hours.
