Second humanitarian flight arrived with 209 Ecuadorians

Six Colombians and 32 pets also arrived on the second plane managed by the national government. More flights are expected to bring more compatriots.

At 10:27 on this March 5, 2022, the second humanitarian flight with Ecuadorians who escaped from war between russia and ukraine.

On her Twitter account, the Chancellery said: “just landed the second humanitarian flight. 209 passengers and 32 pets arrive on the plane. Upon arrival, the team from the different institutions and international organizations awaits them to provide assistance. Welcome to Ecuador!”

The national authorities confirmed that all the Ecuadorians that were in warsaw (Poland) arrived this Saturday at the humanitarian flight, which landed at the Mariscal Sucre airport, in Tababela (Quito). Waiting for the arrival, in a conditioned space near the track, around 200 relatives were stationed.

Besides Ecuadoriansthe Foreign Ministry confirmed that six citizens also came on the plane Colombians.

There are already 455 Ecuadorians who returned to the country after fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. On March 4, 2022, the first humanitarian flightwith 246 people.

Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Holguín also reported that another 121 Ecuadorians were able to leave the border areas of Ukraine. Therefore, they will prepare their return for next week on new flights. The dates are not confirmed yet. (JS)
