“This is the second flight that the government has sent to Romania, on the instructions of President López Obrador and Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard. It brought with it humanitarian aid managed by AMEXCID (Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation) for refugees from the conflict in Ukraine who are in Romanian camps,” the SRE posted on its Twitter account.
According to Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, the plane is expected to return to Mexico City with the compatriots next week.

30 Mexicans remain in Ukraine
At a press conference, Olga García Guillén, Mexican ambassador to Ukraine, reported that up to now there are around 60 people, including nationals and their direct relatives, intending to board the flight.
“We have the record of all those who are going to leave on the plane, there are about 60 people and direct relatives, although the list goes up and down,” he said.
The ambassador added that of those who have voluntarily evacuated Ukraine, many have expressed interest in staying on the border with Romania for a few months or until the situation improves.
Meanwhile, he reported that there are still some 30 Mexicans who have preferred to stay in Ukraine for personal reasons.
“Mostly it is because of women who do not want to leave their husbands because of the issue of recruitment (military for the conflict). Some of these people have moved to the west of the country to stay in cities closer to the border,” he said. .
