Second day of cold wave with temperatures down to -4.3°C

This Tuesday began the second day of the cold wave with minimum temperatures of up to -4.3 ° C recorded in Mercedes, Soriano.

Several more departments registered temperatures below zero this Tuesday, among them: Lavalleja -3.5 ° C; Tacuarembo -3.1°C; Flowers -2.5°C; Rivera -2.3°C; Florida -1.8°C; Peach -1.6°C; Cerro Largo -1.5°C and Río Negro -1.0°C.

This situation favored the formation of frosts in different areas of the country.

On Monday an air mass of polar origin entered, which will remain until Wednesday. Although the temperature dropped throughout the territory, the most affected areas are the southwest, center, east and northeast, reported Inumet.

The minimum extreme temperatures will range between -3º and – 2º C and maximum between 10º and 13º C.

“Frost formation is expected during this event. On Tuesday the 31st and Wednesday the 1st, the occurrence of rainfall in the eastern coastal areas is likely”, reports Inumet.
