Second consecutive day without registering deaths from Covid-19

For two consecutive days, Panama remains without registering deaths due to Covid-19, on Sunday, March 20, no deaths from the disease were reported, according to the epidemiology report of the Ministry of Health.

For today, this report reveals that 386 new cases were reported for a total of 762,394 confirmed cases.

According to the Minsa, there are currently 751,640 recovered people, of which 203 are newly recovered. 7,029 tests were applied for a positivity of 5.5%.

There are 2,595 active cases throughout the country, of which 2,470 are in home isolation and 125 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 2,445 at home and 25 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 115 in the Ward and 10 in the ICU.

Regarding vaccination, the report highlights that through the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI) 7,877,812 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been applied, of which 3,431,638 have been placed in the first dose; 3,014,362 in the second dose and 1,420,416 in the booster dose.

In the pediatric population, children between 5 and 11 years old, 332,064 doses have been placed; of which 244,642 in the first dose and 87,422 in the second dose for a coverage of 47.5% in this population group.
