Former President Sebastián Piñera appreciated the announcement by President Gabriel Boric who confirmed that a Chilean embassy will be opened in Palestine during his government and assured that it is “a step forward.”

After the news, Piñera indicated that “in our government we had to establish the Chilean embassy in Palestine through a visiting ambassador and now President Boric announced the opening of an embassy, ​​it is a step forward.”

Along the same lines, the former president pointed out that “Chile has a very clear policy”, in which “it recognizes and respects the right of the Palestinian and Israeli people to live in a sovereign, autonomous and peaceful State, with freedom and safe borders”. .

“I visited Palestine twice, and I believe that Palestine and the Palestinian people have the right, like the Israeli people, to a free, sovereign, autonomous State with known and secure borders,” Piñera said.
