Search work for missing aircraft in Antioquia will move forward this Thursday

A Unified Command Post will be installed and two helicopters will participate in the work, Pacifica de Aviación reported.

A statement was made from the management of Pacifica de Aviación in which it was reported that the HK 2522 aircraft owned by the company, which covered the Juradó – Medellín route, lost communication with air traffic control at 5:30 pm this Wednesday. Given this situation andThe work team activated an emergency response plan that is coordinated with Civil Aeronautics in order to locate the aircraft.

The general manager of Pacifica de Aviación, Rubén Darío Lesmes, reported that the search will be carried out in the last registered coordinates: “The search is being coordinated to begin at 6:00 am because due to conditions it is not possible to go to the site. Two helicopters are leaving for the search,” he assured.

Regarding this case, the director of Dagran, Carlos Ríos Puerta, indicated that he will travel first thing this Thursday to the municipality of Urrao to evaluate the situation regarding the aircraft that Aerocivil reported missing. From that municipality a Unified Command Post will be activated to carry out search and rescue efforts: “At this moment we are awaiting indications from the Civil Aeronautics in order to coordinate all pertinent response actions. ANDAt this moment we are in the crisis room from the Olaya Herrera airport. Helicopter operations are not carried out as of today due to meteorological issues. We are in contact with the JAC to verify two possible emergency zones,” explained the director of Dagran.
