The Judiciary reported that on the first day of operation of these courts, 128 hearings were held, corresponding to the different areas of the judicial system.
Likewise, the Judicial City offered services to 813 users of the Justice System who came to the headquarters this Monday.
For this week, the Judicial City has 782 hearings scheduled in its 22 rooms, all equipped, air-conditioned and located in a decent space for judicial work.
Lawyers and users of the Justice System positively valued the amenities provided by the Judicial City, considered the most modern in the country and the region. The headquarters is equipped with a large reception, highly qualified staff, waiting rooms, digital audience role, wireless internet and cutting-edge technology for audience development.
The Judicial City has a new waiting room designed to offer users and lawyers appropriate, comfortable and functional spaces while they wait for their hearings. The area has wireless internet (Wi-Fi), access to the audience role platform via QR code, 130 comfortable chairs and air conditioning. In addition, service assistants will be available to guide users about audience roles.
It is recalled that the authorization of the Judicial City is carried out in phases. The first included the Digital Training and Assistance Space, virtual hearings, internal and external training room, self-management area and the citation and notification center.
Deprived of liberty
The Judiciary established a protocol and adapted two waiting rooms for prisoners who are transferred to these courts to hear their cases.
The protocol contemplates the transfer of inmates through a special space within the building, taking them to two waiting rooms: one located on the second level and another on the third, with capacity for 32 people each. These areas are air-conditioned, have seats and have a bathroom for the exclusive use of prisoners.
Currently, in the Judicial City of Santo Domingo Este, the Civil and Commercial, Labor, Criminal jurisdictions and the Peace Court of the Second Circumscription already operate.
It is expected that on February 13, comprehensive services for Boys, Girls and Adolescents will come into operation, both in Civil and Criminal areas, as well as the Peace Court of the First District, thus completing the full authorization of the Judicial City.
