Screams and fights on the order of the day

Within the framework of the ordinary session numerous accusations arose, especially against Basilio “Bachi” Núñez, let us remember that illegal credits were granted in the Cooperative to drug traffickers, politicians, members of the council among others.

The president of INCOOP, Pedro Loblein, had confirmed that the credits granted to some authorities and to the fugitive pastor José Insfrán by the San Cristóbal Cooperative, were granted irregularly and with privileges. He mentioned that the corresponding procedures will be carried out to recover the credit granted to these partners.

When the list of names of those who accessed loans irregularly was released, Deputy Basilio Nuñez spoke about his situation and said that he agreed to a loan for more than Gs. 1,000 million that he withdrew from the “San Cristóbal” cooperative, saying that he paid a fee and then could not do so due to the impact that the pandemic had on his economy. He also denied that Olivia Cattebeke is his personal assistant.

In yesterday’s session of deputies, Basilio “Bachi” Núñez found himself in the eye of the storm after being accused of being a vulgar swindler by deputy Kattya González. “When the claque colorada takes over the cooperative, it turns it into a money launderer, while humble people have their homes seized, these characters withdraw millions,” he said. On the other hand, Celeste Amarilla also gave her opinion on this situation saying that “She is so clumsy that she takes out the credits under her own name and never pays, for me that is money laundering.”

All these statements were the highlight of the session that was scheduled for 8:30 in the morning, but began half an hour later. After the wait, the kick-off was given with the speaking of the speakers, who at the moment of presenting their opinions began with heated discussions.

Deputy Núñez stepped forward and used strong adjectives to refer to his colleagues before he was given the floor, and amid shouts and banging on the table he made reference to the fact that his colleagues “are not saints either”

Likewise, deputy Nano Galaverna, in the midst of shouting, joined the unfortunate discussions referring to deputy Celeste Amarilla as a “kicker and extortionist of Itaipu officials, just like her husband.”

The ordinary session of the Chamber of Deputies included 18 points to be discussed on its agenda, among them, the most controversial were focused on loan requests addressed to various public entities, but these went into the background since the deputies remained in constant discussions.

What was supposed to focus on the definition of relevant points finally ended up becoming a circus full of accusations and lack of respect, leaving some items, such as, for example, the case of the fate of the municipal squares of Asunción that have long been in unknown, completely in the background.

Finally, after approximately five hours of tense debate, the Chamber of Deputies sanctioned and sent to the Executive Branch for enactment four loan contracts, amounting to an amount of USD. 635,000,000. They were sent to the Executive Power for the corresponding promulgation.

REJECTIONS

The Colorado Honor bench, for its part, had previously started rejecting any request that is related to loans, referring to the related points that were finally approved.

Deputy Teodoro Jara mentioned that the total amounts amount to USD 600 million and that they do not consider the budgetary execution of the loans by the government to be reliable.
