Taking this positive outlook into account, Scotiabank announces the launch of the “Scotiabank Women’s Initiative” program, which seeks to break down the barriers that businesswomen have today within the financial and professional field, with the aim of increasing their opportunities for success today. and in the future.
This initiative, launched in Canada in 2018, grew to include several Latin American and Caribbean countries such as: Jamaica, Costa Rica, Chile and now Peru, which is the fourth country in the region to implement it according to its local reality. To date, this program has impacted more than 20,000 women globally, helping them grow their businesses.

The program is based on three fundamental pillars for women entrepreneurs: financial solutions according to the life cycle of your companies, specialized education and advisory and mentoring services. Through these pillars, the program aims to support women entrepreneurs by educating them on the importance of saving and the opportunity to do so with the bank’s digital products.
In a recent market study carried out for the bank on a group of women entrepreneurs in Peru, the relevance of the saving habit was identified for 90% of them; however, less than half (45%) have a bank savings account. Within the framework of this initiative, Scotiabank offers various products and services to support women entrepreneurs in their savings habits through an innovative digital platform.
A boost to the business world
The advice and mentoring will be carried out in partnership with ALTAG, a leading company in training and updating executives in the region. With this agreement, 2,000 women will benefit, all of them Small Business clients. Each will receive valuable methodologies and tools to boost her business, in order to empower them as business leaders. The participants will also be able to share their experiences, success stories and good practices through networking and possible alliances between companies in the same sector.
