Concepción is preparing to take a step towards sustainable mobility with the implementation of a transportation service scooters electrical. This project is the result of an agreement between the Penquista municipality and the company Whoosh, designed to offer a more environmentally friendly transportation alternative and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants.
The mayor of Concepción, Álvaro Ortiz, highlighted the importance of this initiative: “We want to move in the right direction, helping to increasingly reduce our carbon footprint, streamlining our daily trips and giving the inhabitants of Conception a more sustainable and environmentally friendly city”.
When will this service start working?
The service of scooters Electric vehicles will be available from December 2024. Initially, more than 100 designated parking points will be established to facilitate the use and order of these vehicles. If the service is well received by the community, it is planned to increase the number of stations to cover more areas of the city.
Service Features
Whoosh ensures that the scooters will be safe, accessible and of high quality, complying with the regulations established by the new Road Coexistence Law. This includes specific requirements for users, such as the mandatory use of helmets and reflective elements, to ensure a safe experience for both drivers and pedestrians.
The scooters Electric vehicles will not only contribute to reducing the carbon footprint, but will also offer an efficient transportation alternative for short journeys, helping to decongest the streets and optimizing travel times.
In addition to its positive impact on the environment, the service seeks to encourage healthy habits by promoting the use of active transportation. Likewise, the scooters Electric vehicles are ideal for improving urban connectivity, especially in areas with high transportation demand or with limitations in traditional mobility options.
