San Cristóbal.- The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), Luis Henry Molina Peña, began in the Judicial Department of San Cristóbal, the first of several regional meetings with judges and key actors of society, where he highlighted the importance of strengthening of the integrity system, which protects the independence of judges.
In this sense, Molina Peña pondered the review and implementation of the judicial career and rank systems, carried out by the Judiciary, since “it allows decisions to be made around parameters of objective certainty and reduces the discretion of the administrative bodies.”
Likewise, he appreciated that the Judiciary since 2019 began the review of all internal processes to ensure that decisions do not interfere with independence and allow transparent and efficient management.

Molina Peña also referred to the need to continue consolidating efficiency through alternative means of conflict resolution. Evaluating that in the countries with the best rates of coexistence, only 90 or 80% of the cases reach the courts.
Together with the president of the SCJ, magistrates Nancy Salcedo and Francisco Ortega Polanco, members of the Second Chamber of the SCJ, were present; and Octavia Fernández, who is part of the Judicial Power Council.
Around 50 judges from the judicial districts of San Cristóbal, Peravia, Azua, Ocoa and Villa Altagracia participated in the meeting, led by the departmental coordinating judge, Juan Proscopio Pérez, and the deputy coordinator, magistrate Rosa Angélica Rodríguez.
Proscopio Pérez highlighted that thanks to the implementation of the Strategic Plan of the Judiciary in that department, the foundations have been laid to reduce judicial delay.
“The Strategic Plan fulfills its constitutional missions and offers the citizen the security of guardianship, protection, transparency, service and efficiency, added to the taking of measures focused on modernizing the Judiciary, whose proposal has focused on reducing and decongesting the processes solution pending,” he said.
At the meeting, the projects implemented by the Judiciary were socialized and the advances that are already being seen in the different judicial departments of the country, in the SCJ and in the Superior Administrative Court (TSA) were presented.
Through the Justice Up to Date strategy to guarantee the dignity of people, work is being done on four fundamental milestones, which are: 0% delinquency with failures within the established deadlines; 100% of release orders up to date; Reduction of the judicial burden through alternative means and negotiation, and an open Judiciary with online accountability.
