Scioli stated that they point to "generate higher income" to achieve fiscal balance

The Minister of Productive Development, Daniel Scioli, said on Monday that in order to achieve fiscal balance, the goal is “to generate higher income through increased economic activity” and stressed the need for “all of us to take care of the balance of our economy.”

In addition, he staked the need to “boost” exports, promote the arrival of “genuine dollars” and expand the productive matrixand emphasized the “challenge of adding value and knowledge to the raw material”, by chairing the Table of the E-gaming and Videogames Industry.

In the meeting with companies in the sector, the progress of the promotion policy carried out by the productive portfolio was evaluated, and local growth possibilities were explored in these two activities of the Knowledge Economy, which together had a global turnover of 176,000 million dollars in 2021.

“The challenge is to add value and knowledge to everything that is our raw material. There are 300,000 jobs for new programmers and this knowledge industry in which Argentina becomes increasingly competitive”Scioli noted.

In this sense, he expressed the decision to “optimize lines of credit and incentives so that no project” in the sector is frustrated, and assured that, in general terms, the aim is to “strengthen” exports, “and bring genuine dollars and everything that enlarges our productive matrix”.

About the meeting

The meeting of the Table of the E-gaming and Video Games Industry was also attended by the Minister of Culture of the Nation, Tristán Bauer, who stressed that this industry “not only exceeds that of the cinema in volume and market, but also that of the cinema and music together”.

“Our commitment is to continue working together and together, we know the impact and the possibilities that this industry has; we are going to continue working with all our energy and in harmony,” she remarked.

While, the Buenos Aires Minister of Production, Augusto Costaalso present at the meeting, focused on “the challenge of accelerating the regulation of the accession of the province of Buenos Aires to the Knowledge Economy Law”.

“We understand that we need this instrument to generate opportunities for entrepreneurship and for Buenos Aires companies,” he assured.

The Undersecretary of Knowledge Economy, María Apólitopointed out: “From this Ministry we promote and attend to the specific needs of both sectors so that each micro and small company or group of entrepreneurs fits their financing needs, and manages to enter the regime of the Knowledge Economy Law”.

“This work table is essential to continue advancing and to have the tools to consolidate a sector that generates foreign exchange and quality employment for the country,” he said.

According to the Observatory of the Argentine Video Game IndustryIn 2020, this subsector represented more than $86 million dollars, of which 77% corresponds to exports, with the United States and Canada as the main markets.

The Ministry of Productive Development carries out a set of initiatives that promote the potential of an Argentine video game and E-gaming industry which is growing, through programs such as Soluciona.

This program, whose call is open until July 29, finances projects of companies that are part of the different industries that make up the Knowledge Economy, or ‘Promote the Video Game Industry’, which allocates $250 million for projects of companies, associations and universities, which improve the quality standards of the industry and contribute to the increase of employment in it, both directly and indirectly.
