The Argentine ambassador in Brazil, Daniel Scioli, assured this Saturday that the vice president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner He will evaluate “when the time comes” what is the “best proposal for Argentine society” in the face of the 2023 presidential elections and affirmed that the former president has “a great sense of responsibility.”

“Cristina has a great sense of responsibility. When the time comes, she will evaluate what is best. She did so in 2019. She will bet on the best proposal for Argentine society,” Scioli said in statements to CNN Radio.

In this sense, the former presidential candidate maintained that the Vice President “is going to do what she has to do” as happened before the 2019 elections, when she chose Alberto Fernández to head the Frente de Todos (FdT) formula that was imposed in those elections.

“This time, Cristina will make an evaluation with the experience she has and will generate the conditions so that the candidacies can be defined. I think that the PASO are a great tool”he assured.

Asked if he would be a candidate for President again, Scioli considered that today he has the “great responsibility” of facing the second stage of the mission entrusted to him as ambassador to Brazil “with a very clear objective, which is to reach a great agreement with (president-elect Luiz Inácio) Lula da Silva and strengthen the region.”

“Today I am committed to this agreement that is going to give the country a great boost. There is a great affinity between Alberto and Lula and all this must be translated into concrete facts. I am always here to help, collaborate where I think I can give a service to the country as I have done throughout my 25-year political career,” he remarked.

Today Argentina’s plan is to “recompose real wages, fight inflation and rebuild reserves”

In addition, Scioli considered that he can help the Government from his role as ambassador and stressed that beyond the Brazilian electoral process “the bilateral agenda” that managed to recover the neighboring country “as Argentina’s first commercial partner” has never stopped.

“If I have achieved these advances with someone who is politically and ideologically so different, now, when the presidential diplomacy between Alberto and Lula can be fully developed, it will be possible to agree on a path of integration”he expressed in reference to the outgoing president Jair Bolsonaro.

Scioli recalled that Alberto Fernandez “He has had to manage two years of pandemic, then with the consequences of the war between Ukraine and Russia and the conditions of the loan” that former President Mauricio Macri took with the IMF in 2018.

“Now we are in a new world context, it is another agenda and new opportunities are also opening up. I not only believe that it can be good, but I believe that it can be much better,” he asserted.

And he added that today Argentina’s plan is to “recompose real wages, combat inflation and rebuild reserves.”

“The country rises from the bottom up. And in that you have to generate a virtuous circuit of growth and in that Brazil can help a lot to that,” completed the former Buenos Aires governor.
