39th edition of the Departmental Fair
With a number widely higher than last year, the activity was carried out in the Assembly Hall of the Institute of High Specialization under the organization of the Department of Scientific Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
During the first hours the evaluators that the winners determined in each of the categories acted.
“Departmental Fair is the 39th, but we are in the 40 years of the program that began to take its first steps in 1985. A slightly special birthday because the weather did not accompany the whole, but it is enjoyed the same” expressed the Professor Alejandra Vidales.
“79 clubs participated in all the categories that are generally presented that they are the initial ones –abejitas-, of primary-colibrí and cardinal-, media –churrinche and chajá- already difference from the previous years we have the fact that they are graduates and we have ñandúes that are tertiary students” detailed the departmental manager of Science Clubs.
The answer in these innovative categories was very good. “The teacher who appeared in Teros is the first time he participates in clubs while the ñandúes were already participating in the agrarian last year for what they come with another experience. They continue working” commented to The daily professional.
“There are several clubs that are presented for the first time. Personally I liked that a teacher encouraged to present the work because many times he is stored in the classroom. Yes, it is true that our children and young people are the protagonists, I think the teacher also has to show his work. There are a lot of things that are done but that we only transfer to the students and we do not show it from our role” said.
Alejandra Vidales recalled that in 2024 52 clubs throughout the department had been presented. “They had registered about 70 but there were just over 50. This year it exceeded that figure” highlighted.
This time a different distribution was made in the area that developed the exhibition. “We occupy some different spaces, which gave it more mobility. Last year we put together a very wide row in the middle and had no space for people’s transit.”
The fair did not open to the public early to facilitate the work to the evaluators. “In the previous edition it became very difficult to be able to listen with a public present. As a result, we agreed that there should be a space for evaluators to listen to the boys in a more appropriate environment and then open it to the public” held.
National Fair in November
“From here a club was classified by category and area, less in Tero and Abejitas that together with Horneros- Category that we don’t have- do not compete” explained.
“The National Fair is in November, specifically 12 to 15, and as they are still in the process of selection, we have not confirmed the headquarters. It is estimated that it will be in Maldonado, but we do not know the place” He ended by saying Professor Alejandra Vidales.
