Nearly 200 students from preschool and primary school, in addition to the residents of the human settlement La Molina, in the Veintiséis de Octubre district, they have been suffering from the collapse of a drainage manhole.
This new collapse was recorded on Thursday, in one of the mailboxes located in zone B of sector II of the La Molina human settlement, between Eucalipto and Jerusalén streets, next to the Pitágoras School.
Teachers said that this is not the first time that a sewage spill has been recorded and that it has affected 175 students from preschool and primary school, as well as teaching and administrative staff.
“We are all affected by this new collapse, but especially the children with headaches and stomach aches. The collapse is reported on repeated occasions, but they only provide solutions that last for days,” they indicated.

They added that they made the decision to suspend classes at the initial level, since students cannot eat their food due to the strong odors. The residents emphasized that they made their respective claim to EPS Grau to immediately clean the mailbox.
“We are calling on the EPS to come and clean it up. If they don’t come between today and tomorrow, it will overflow and affect more than 30 residents. We want the drain cleaned,” they said.
The indignant residents criticized that, despite not having water and sewage services, the EPS Grau charges them monthly. “These events always occur, they charge month after month, we have no water, we make calls to the company, but they ignore us, just as they charge, they should be responsible for having a good service, the most affected are the children, with the heat of the sun, the smell is unbearable, it is worse, the smell is too strong. All of La Molina is affected,” they concluded.
