Schoolchildren from Trujillo and Piura made a short break in their face-to-face classes this Tuesday to encourage the national soccer team, a few hours before facing their pair from Paraguay for matchday 18 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
In Trujillo, elementary school children spent several minutes in their schoolyard to participate in a bar contest encouraged by their teachers, according to Canal N.
The small ones also expressed their confidence that the Bicolor will win the decisive match this afternoon. “We won two to zero”, “we won with eight goals”, were some of the markers that the students mentioned with optimism.
In Piura, another group of students from the San Miguel school also expressed their enthusiasm in the courtyard of their school.
“Here we are all excited because we want Peru to win the match to be able to go to the playoffs and with that to the World Cup. With a lot of faith and talent I think the score will be two-nil with goals from (Gianluca) Lapadula and an assist from (Christian) Cueva”, student Juan Diego Campos told RPP.
