The 2025 edition of the School Paralympics recorded a record number of entries, a total of 2,056 athletes. The biggest event in the world for school-age children with disabilities will be held next Monday (17) at the Paralympic Training Center, in São Paulo.
“In the first phase of the event, from November 17th to 21st, athletes will compete in athletics, wheelchair tennis, weightlifting, blind football, 3×3 wheelchair basketball, goalball, taekwondo and wheelchair rugby. In the following week, from November 26th to 28th, it will be the athletes’ turn to take action in swimming, sitting volleyball, PC football [paralisados cerebrais]in judo, badminton, table tennis and bocce”, informed the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) in a statement.
The 2,056 athletes who will participate in the School Paralympics come from the country’s 27 federative units and are aged between 10 and 18 years old. The state with the largest number of representatives is São Paulo, with 316 athletes, followed by Minas Gerais (181) and Santa Catarina (177).
