School nutrition programs will benefit 750 thousand students

The School Complementary Feeding Program (PACE) and Study Without Hunger (ESH) are underway to provide nutritional support to a wide number of students across the country. This program is expected to benefit 750 thousand students, providing them with nutritionally improved biscuits, fortified semi-skimmed milk and enriched nutritional cream.

According to Jaime López, director of School Nutrition and Health, the tender for these programs covers the years 2024 and 2025, being biannual. The PACE will reach 3,420 educational centers and 552,114 students, while the ESH will help 193 thousand primary and secondary school students from 1,000 schools.

The school lunch provided by the ESH program includes a balanced plate of healthy foods, with carbohydrates, proteins, legumes and fruits, ensuring adequate nutrition for school-age students.
