The School Infrastructure Directorate (DIE) reported this Tuesday that it executed 81% of its budget in the first eight months of 2025, allocated to the construction of new classrooms and the corrective and preventive maintenance of school facilities throughout the country.
In a statement, the director of the entity, Roberto Herrerapresented the results corresponding to the year 2025, after the deconcentration process of the DIE, highlighting the delivery of 1,155 new classrooms for the start of the 2025-2026 school year, exceeding the initial goal of 1,100.
- Herrera explained that, between May and December, the DIE carried out 7,635,331,126.28 pesos of a current budget of 9,448,893,905.48 pesos, which represents a 81% execution.
The resources were administered in accordance with the law and current budgetary regulations, with emphasis on transparency and the efficient use of funds to ensure safe and adequate school spaces.
Christmas in the Classrooms 24/7
As part of the plan “Christmas in the Classrooms 24/7”the entity planned to intervene 256 campuses during the Christmas break, a figure that was expanded to 282 educational centersin addition to the new classrooms incorporated into the system at the end of 2025.
Projections for 2026
The director of School Infrastructure reported that for 2026 The institution will have a budget close to 18,000 million pesos, intended to continue the construction of schools, corrective maintenance and strengthening operational capacity, with the commitment to execute resources with transparency and quality.
