A student from the Salomón Ponce Aguilera High School, in the province of Coclé, died after contracting Covid-19 and suffering complications, authorities from the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported.

In an interview granted to Telemetro Reporta, the Minsa highlighted that this 15-year-old had stage 5 chronic kidney disease, in addition to suffering from asthma.

The authorities highlighted that the student was a native of the Juan Hombrón community and that once she was reported as a positive case, the medication was prescribed, but her parents decided to withdraw her from the hospital and not take the medicine with them. After seeing her complicated, they went in search of the drugs but it was too late.

Given the report of this case, the administration of the Salomón Ponce Aguilera school decided to close the campus.
