“Keep your (property) title, one day you will need it”This is how a group of bullies responded to Grecia Yucra, owner of the Tinku Tres Curichis farm, in Guarayos. She approached these people who entered her property illegally, to show her that she had all her supporting documentation, however, they ignored her.
“They told me to keep my title, that they didn’t care. They installed a little hut with a sign. Later they left. But that is their way of operating, there is no way to be careless with these people, because they come back and knock everything down,” said Yucra, in time to point out that this incident occurred last Sunday in Ascensión de Guarayos.
The woman recalled that her family has been fighting, judicially, against illegal settlements since 2018 for another property, that until now the eviction order cannot be executed.
“And now this. It’s like a kind of fence that directly affects my property”Greece clarified.
However, this is not the only property at risk. From the El Rosario property, also in Guarayos, they reported that a hundred people invaded the property, opened roads and are getting everything ready to build houses.
It should be remembered that precisely this day, in Ascensión de Guarayos, a council was held in defense of the land. Thousands of people participated in this, in addition to the presence of indigenous representatives, producers and civics.
In this event it determined to assume the legitimate defense in proportion to the aggression received, as established in the Penal Code in its article 11, explained the civic leader of Guarayos, Salvador Vaca.
