The leader of the Single National Union of Workers in the Construction and Similar Industry (SUNTRACS), Saúl Méndez, referred to the internal elections held by the Democratic Revolutionary Party where the current vice president, José Gabriel Carrizo came out as the presidential standard-bearer for the general elections of 2004.
Méndez also considered that this country is very surreal when seeing an ex-president being tried for a crime and the following week he is a candidate for president, “The inadmissible, the improbable happens in Panama, like you are being tried by a court a week before and days later he is a presidential candidate»
