The selection of Saudi Arabia intensifies its preparation for the sixth participation in its history in a World Cup, in Qatar 2022 with the loss of Riad Sharahili and the doubt of Hassan Tambakti, who this Sunday trained outside his teammates ahead of his debut against Argentina next Tuesday at the Lusail Stadium.

The selector herve renard he loses Sharahili, who suffers a muscle injury and may even miss out on the World Cup.

The 26-year-old midfielder who plays for Abha in his country’s Liga was injured last Thursday and a tear in his right leg was confirmed after undergoing MRI tests.

Less complicated is that of Tambakti, a 23-year-old defender who plays for Al Shabab and who practiced at a slower pace and had a specific job, but nevertheless his inclusion against Argentina is unlikely.

“We are eleven against eleven. We play against a team, not only against Lionel Messi”coach Renard told the media in his country after training.

“A World Cup is a great motivation. Some players on the team already have experience, but for others it is a novelty but also an incentive,” defender Muhammad Al Burayk pointed out, also in a conference.

Saudi Arabia is Argentina’s first rival in Qatar 2022 next Tuesday from 7 p.m. (Argentine time) at the Lusail stadium, for the first date of group C that they share with Poland and Mexico.
