The multimillionaire advertising campaign of the Government of Donald Trump, which criminalizes undocumented migrants, has been broadcast for several days on Mexican open television.

The Secretary of Internal Security of the United States, Kristi Noem, announced on February 17 the multimillionaire advertising campaign Nationally and internationally, based on a series of ads that will be broadcast for two years through radio, television and digital media, in several countries and regions, in various languages.

The ads will be highly segmented, including social networks, text messages and digital media, to reach undocumented, both in the United States and internationallysaid the Department of National Security (DHS) in a statement that day.

For this campaign, the DHS would have allocated 200 million dollars, the Semafor agency reported last March, based on documents obtained from the US government.

The Televisa company opened spaces in its channels to a spot – at high audience schedules – in which Noem appears, who warns: “If you are a foreign criminal considering entering the United States illegallydon’t even think about it. ”

The announcement charged notoriety because on Saturday it was broadcast on Channel 5 of Televisa, in the part -time of the MX League game between America (owned by the television) and Mazatlan. However, the message has been reproducing for several days, at least since April 3, at the star schedules of that company, including channel 2, the main one, and 9.

The 30 -second message is a short version of the original, of just over a minute, which for several weeks has been projected as an advertising on the YouTube platform in Mexico.

In the reduced version, the official points out: “I am Kristi Noem, Secretary of Internal Security of the United States. Thank you, President Donald J. Trump, for ensuring our border and for putting the United States first.

“Let me deliver a clear message from President Trump to the world: if you are a foreign criminal considering entering the United States illegallyDon’t even think about it.

“Let me be clear: if you come to our country and violate our laws, we are going to chase you. Criminals are not welcome in the United States.

President Trump is fulfilling his promise to make the United States safe again.

Noem visited Mexico on March 28 and was received by President Claudia Sheinbaum.

The announcement is part of a multimillion -dollar advertising campaign of Trump’s administration against migrants.

Captured and deported

In the full version of the ad, the secretary Noem also holds past US governments for allowing undocumented migration and not combating drug trafficking and warns those who try to cross their country irregularly that they will be captured and deported by the authorities.

For a long time a weak leadership has left our open borders, flooding our communities with drugs, trafficking of violent people and criminalsensure the message. “Those days are over. With President Trump we are defending US families and restoring their safety. If you try to enter illegallyyou will be caught, you will be expelled and you will never return. Follow the law and you will find opportunities. If you break it, you will find consequences. ”

The Regulation of the Federal Radio and Television Law indicates that the authorization to disseminate materials recorded abroad will be granted as long as they do not discriminate, they transmit information that causes alarm or panic in the public or carry out transmissions contrary to state security, to national integrity and peace.

In article 34 of this regulation, content is prevented that “be denigrating or offensive for the cult of the heroes or for religious beliefs, as well as what, directly or indirectly, discriminates any races; make apology of violence, crime or vices (…) transmit information that causes alarm or panic in the public.”

The Federal Telecommunications and Radiodifusion Law remarks that the advertising that is disseminated in the concessioned channels It should avoid transmissions contrary to the principles of peace, not discrimination and respect for the dignity of all people.
