Satipo: Six firearms seized for lack of documentation

Because the owners of the firearms did not regularize their possession, the Department of Investigation against Illicit Trafficking in Arms, Ammunition and Explosives of the Division of Investigation against Organized Crime proceeded with the seizure of six firearms.

These are six Baikal brand shotguns, caliber 16 GA, the operation was carried out with the presence of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police of Peru (PNP) to comply with Superintendency Resolution No. 826-2018, issued by SUCAMEC on August 10, 2018, which stipulates the seizure of said firearms because the owners did not regularize their situation.

The mayor of the Satipo police station mentioned that people who have illegal weapons, which they are not using or whose papers have expired, have until the end of August to come to the police station to voluntarily hand over their weapons.
