In a meeting between the tax authority and representatives of Meta, Amazon, TikTok, Mercado Libre, ALAI, DiDi, Rappi, Netflix, AMVO, Walmart, Airbnb, AIA, CANIETI, DIMA, MPA, Alianza in México and Lalamove; The General Legal Administrator of the SAT, Ricardo Carrasco Varona, highlighted that the new provision that will come into force in 2026 refers only to tax information, so it does not violate the privacy of the information of the platforms, nor of their users.
To comply with this legal provision, a regulatory proposal will be issued, and the provision specifies the type of information to which the tax authority will have access, which generates peace of mind for the platforms and their users. It also allows them to identify the data according to the type of digital service they provide, in order to make it practical according to their operations, the official highlighted.
The platforms will have the option to choose the mechanism, whether system, interface or application, with which access to information will be granted, explained the general administrator of Communications and Information Technologies, Carlos Malanche Flores.
