Sarmiento reaped a great victory at the end of Friday in his visit to Colón de Santa Fe, 2-0, in a match of the third date of the Professional Soccer League.
Javier Toledo, from a penalty, 3m into the first half; and Luciano Gondou, with a free kick 40m from the plugin, scored the goals for the Junín team, which now has four points.
Colón, for his part, is still sunk at the bottom of the table without units and left amid whistles from his people.
They were still settling in when Sarmiento took the lead. At 2m Vega committed a clear penalty on Martínez (a clumsiness or ingenuity of the local midfielder, who was left to anticipate), and Toledo took charge of the shot from 12 steps to make it 1-0.
Those from Junín later justified the difference, partly because of their collective concentration and partly because of Colón’s confusion.
Sabalero barely got close to 37m with a shot from Arrúa inside the area that Sebastián Meza controlled and showed some idea of Pierotti’s hand, but the rest was confusion, ineffectiveness in handling the ball and fragility from the middle towards his area .
Israel Damonte’s team, in addition to concentration, was solid, clear in the middle with Méndez, dangerous up front due to Gondou’s permanent sacrifice and reached the break with a well-deserved victory. Along the way he lost Arismendi to injury.
In the second half Colón improved, going forward with a completely different attitude from the initial stage. In addition, he suffered little behind, because Sarmiento was left without legs.
But the venue collided with Sebastián Meza, the “green” goalkeeper, at the end of the night the figure of the match. He took two headers (one from Goltz, another from Troncoso) and, in his outstanding action, blocked a point-blank shot from inside the Pierotti area.
When the game was dying, to top it off, the visitor settled it with a great goal from a free kick from Gondou.
Thus Sarmiento took three gold points in his fight to get out of the last averages and Sabalero extended his bad start: now he has accumulated three defeats in as many presentations and his coach, Marcelo Saralegui, was left at the center of the questions.
On the next date, the fourth, Colón will play the classic as a visitor with Unión (Sunday the 19th from 5 pm) and Sarmiento will receive San Lorenzo in Junín (Monday the 20th from 7.15 pm).
