Independiente will visit Sarmiento de Junín this Monday in the match that opens the nineteenth date of the 2022 tournament of the Professional Football League.
The match will be played from 5:00 p.m. at the Eva Perón stadium, in the Buenos Aires town of Junín, with arbitration by Patricio Loustau and will be broadcast by TNT Sports.
The “Rojo”, who just got the first victory of the new cycle of Julio César Falcioni after beating Aldosivi by 3 to 0, would repeat the same starting line-up of the last game.
Sarmiento, meanwhile, will be home again after two away games with mixed luck: a triumph in Mar del Plata against Aldosivi (2-1) and a defeat in Santa Fe against Unión (1-0).
In the Juninenses led by Israel Damonte, “Licha” Lisandro López will once again replace Javier Toledo and Federico Rasmunssen will replace Franco Quinteros on the left side.
Sarmiento and Independiente will meet in Junín after almost six years, since the last time it was for the 2016/17 tournament, with a 1-0 away win.
Later, they played in Avellaneda for the 2021 League Cup with a local win 6-0 and then tied 1-1 in October last year for the tournament.
The record is conspicuously dominated by draws, with six out of nine, as Independiente won three and Sarmiento never beat the “Devils” in the First Division.
