The infrastructure, executed on San Cristóbal Hill with an investment that exceeds 4.5 million soles, seeks to boost the local economy through religious and cultural tourism, in addition to consolidating Sapallanga as a strategic destination in the region.
The main component of the project is the imposing image of the Virgin of Cocharcas, 26 meters high, accompanied by recreational spaces, sports areas, a food court, a grotto, a glass bridge, green areas and an ornamental lighting system that allows you to appreciate the viewpoint at night.
Local authorities highlighted that the work will generate a greater influx of visitors throughout the year, directly benefiting merchants, entrepreneurs and residents of the district. Likewise, they pointed out that this project joins other initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and tourist services.
The Regional Government of Junín reported that the viewpoint is part of a set of investments aimed at promoting new tourist circuits and strengthening decentralized economic development, prioritizing cultural identity and faith as axes of growth for the region.
