São Sebastião: 7.5 tons of donations will be delivered to families

The Social Fund of São Paulo and the State Coordination of Civil Defense distributed, this Tuesday (21), 7.5 tons of donations of humanitarian aid items to victims of the storms that hit the north coast of the state over the weekend. The inputs were collected on the first day of donations for the campaign organized by the agency.São Sebastião: 7.5 tons of donations will be delivered to families

The first lady of the State of São Paulo, Cristiane Freitas, and the state coordinator of Civil Defense, Colonel Hengeel Ricardo Pereira, participate in the delivery of food, clothing and hygiene and cleaning items to homeless and displaced people in the municipality of São Sebastião .

roads

The Department of Roads and Highways (DER) partially released traffic at several points that were previously completely obstructed on the Rio-Santos highway (SP-055), in the section between São Sebastião and Ubatuba.

Currently, the teams are still working to free up traffic around Praia Preta. On the rest of the road towards São Sebastião, users can continue with the stop and go operation. The Rodovia dos Tamoios remains completely open to traffic.

At the moment, the following highways managed by the DER have total and partial interdiction points:

Mogi-Bertioga (SP-098)

The Mogi-Bertioga Highway (SP-098) remains closed due to a pipe rupture at km 82, in Biritiba Mirim. There is also a partial interdiction at km 90 and 91, due to the collapse of the barrier; and at Km 87, due to erosion. This Tuesday (21), a DER team starts recovery services on site. The planned investment is BRL 9.4 million and the execution period is up to 180 days.

According to the state government, the complete recovery of the runway will be carried out; new drainage system, with hydraulic ladder and tube line; new retaining wall; and reinforcement of the existing wall.

If necessary, drivers should use the highways of the Imigrantes/Anchieta System (SP-160 and SP-150) as alternative routes. Due to a barrier collapse at km 174+500 of the SP-055, in Praia do Juqueí, access to an alternative route on Rodovia dos Tamoios is prohibited for anyone traveling between Bertioga and Juqueí.

Environmental Research Institute (IPA)

Teams from the Environmental Research Institute (IPA) provide support in the region. Working groups are in the municipalities of São Sebastião and Caraguatatuba to assist in helping the victims.

Concession Highways

The Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo (ARTESP) informs that there is no ban on the state highways granted. The main highways that give access to the coast of São Paulo and the interior of the State of São Paulo do not have traffic jams this Tuesday morning (21).

Tamoios Highway – Normal traffic, no traffic jams.

Anchieta-Imigrantes System (SAI) – Normal traffic, without congestion. Operation 5×5 remains on the Imigrantes and Anchieta Highways.

Castello Branco-Raposo Tavares System – Normal traffic, no congestion.

Anhanguera-Bandeirantes System – Normal traffic, without congestion.

Ayrton Senna/Carvalho Pinto Highway – Normal traffic, no congestion.

Identification of victims

So far, 40 deaths have been confirmed, 39 in São Sebastião and one in Ubatuba. Municipal teams with psychologists and social workers work to welcome the victims’ relatives. Seven bodies have already been identified and released for burial. There are two adult men, two adult women and three children.

Search, rescue and salvage work continues uninterruptedly in the region. Currently, there are 1,730 homeless and 766 homeless across the state.

Medical care

The State Department of Health (SES) informs that 18 adults and five children who were victims of the rains were treated, so far, at the Regional Hospital of the North Coast (HRLN). Of this total, six are in serious condition and 13 stable. Two other patients have already been discharged from hospital and two others, one pregnant and one postpartum, were transferred to Stella Maris Hospital.

Since Sunday, the State Health Units on the North Coast have been on alert to receive potential injuries from the disaster that hit the region. Other health units in Baixada Santista, Alto Tietê and the Capital are also able to receive the wounded.

SES adds that, of the 23 patients who have already gone through the HRLN, one did not have the family located. This patient, a 42-year-old woman, was admitted this morning and the unit’s social service is working to locate them.

In addition to strengthening service, SES-SP forwarded a set of inputs to assist victims of this disaster. 36 ampoules of antivenom for snakes, 5 thousand bottles of sodium hypochlorite, 940 bags of glucose, 900 bags of serum, 180 intravenous kits, 30 suture kits, 30 splints for immobilization, in addition to sedatives and other medications were sent.

Water supply

Sabesp technicians continue to work to restore the water supply systems on the North Coast and Baixada Santista. In São Sebastião and Ilhabela, 40 company tank trucks carry out emergency supply until the systems are fully regularized.

This morning (21), operation and maintenance teams are already in Boiçucanga to try to repair the water production system. Tank trucks are also on the way. Water production in Maresias has already been resumed and more than 8 thousand properties are already recovering their supply (Maresias and Barra do Una).

In Caraguatatuba and Ubatuba, the supply systems are still in the recovery process. In all, 104 company technicians are engaged in this work, with the support of water jetting and high vacuum trucks, six backhoe loaders and other vehicles.

Weather forecast

According to meteorological services, Tuesday (21) starts with sun among clouds on the North Coast and temperatures rise quickly. From the end of the morning, areas of instability are formed and favor the formation of charged clouds over the region.

In the early afternoon, conditions for rain showers return, with a risk of storms, lightning and even a chance of hail in isolated spots. This situation may occur intermittently until early evening. In view of the expected volumes, the orientation for the region of the north coast is of attention due to the soggy soil and the occurrences of landslides already verified in the last days.
