In a match played at Estádio da Ressacada, in Florianópolis, Avaí and São Paulo drew 1-1, a result that did not allow Tricolor paulista to be elevated – even if momentarily – to the condition of leader of the Serie A of the Brazilian Championship. Morumbi’s team – which missed a penalty charged by Argentine Calleri, top scorer in the championship – was 14 points away (it would have 16 with the victory, and would be ahead of all opponents until the conclusion of Atlético-GO x Corinthians). Avaí, in turn, has 11 points, in 12th position.

The curious thing is that the tricolor goal in the match was scored precisely from a penalty. At the end of the first half, the referee awarded a penalty for a hand touch by Arthur Chaves inside the area. Reinaldo charged perfectly, at Vladimir’s right angle, opening the scoring in the 48th minute.
At the beginning of the second half, Arthur Chaves committed another penalty. This time, Calleri, who scored eight goals in the competition, went for the kick, but ended up kicking over the goal.
At twenty minutes, Avaí’s tie came. Eduardo kicked from distance, Jandrei palmed forward and Muriqui scored on the rebound, giving final numbers to the match.
In the next round, the Santa Catarina team visits Atlético Goianiense, on Wednesday (8). The next day, São Paulo face Coritiba, away from home.
Ceará 1 x 1 Coritiba
The team from Paraná was another that failed to move up positions after being tied by 1 to 1. However, they can consider a good result for having left behind the score against Ceará, at Castelão Stadium, in Fortaleza. Vozão took the lead with a goal from Colombian Mendoza, who was launched while still in defense, applied a body dribble on the opponent and fired until finishing the cross to beat Alex Muralha, in the 36th minute of the first half.

In the second stage, at 39, the Argentine Adrian Martínez received inside the area and had peace of mind to play over goalkeeper João Ricardo to equalize.
Coxa went to the same 14 points as São Paulo, in fourth position. Ceará went to 10 points, in 15th and has as its next commitment the duel with América-MG, on Wednesday (8), in Belo Horizonte.
Athletico and Santos have a balanced game
In Curitiba, Athletico Paranaense and Santos met at the Arena da Baixada and put on a good show in the 2-2 draw. Santos took the lead with young Marcos Leonardo, 19, scoring with a header just 11 minutes into the game. Still in the first stage, at 42, Pablo took advantage of Pedro Rocha’s pass to equalize.

In the second half, striker Léo Baptistão, from Santos, ended up scoring an own goal for the opponent, when he headed a foul charged by Terans in the 10th minute. At 18, Marcos Leonardo’s star shone again to tie the game again.
With the result, the teams are still glued in the classification. Athletico went to 13 points, in seventh, while Santos has 12, in eighth. In the next round, both teams enter the field on Wednesday (8): Hurricane visits Juventude in Caxias do Sul and Santos receives Internacional in Vila Belmiro.
