The first case of death by Chikungunya In the state of São Paulo was confirmed with the death of a person in Tupã, a city 435.9 km from the capital. According to the Secretariat of Health of Tupã, this is a 60-year-old man with a registration of comorbidities (diabetes).
Tupã City Hall reported that the man began to feel the symptoms of the disease – high fever and joint pain – on the first day of January this year, was hospitalized two days later and died on the 11th of the same month.
According to the Arbovirus Panel of the São Paulo Health Department, the city has already recorded 1,283 probable cases of contamination by the disease, with 613 confirmed occurrences and another 670 in confirmation.
In the state, there are already 3,523 probable cases, 1,064 confirmations and 2,549 investigation records. In addition to the death of Tupã, four other cases in São Paulo are under investigation. THE Chikungunya is transmitted by Aedes aegyptithe same mosquito (photo) dengue transmitter.

This Monday, was confirmed by the Health Surveillance Coordination (Covisa), of the São Paulo Municipal Health Secretariat, the death of an 11-year-old girl by dengue. She lived in the region of Hermelino Matarazzo, in the East Zone.
In the city of São Paulo alone, 2,851 dengue cases are already recorded. With the increase in occurrences, the city is performing the active search to apply the second dose of vaccination against the disease, since most people took the first dose, but not complement.
According to the Ministry of Health, Brazil has so far records 269,919 probable cases of dengue, 303 deaths in investigation and 85 confirmed deaths. In the case of chikungunya There are 19,605 probable cases, 12 deaths in investigation and 11 confirmations of death from the disease.
