Sao Paulo Forum proposes common struggle to continue conquering spaces

Countries participating in the Sao Paulo Forum, held in Caracas, seek consensus to develop a plan of struggle for Latin America and the Caribbean that strengthens the unity of the region and gain spaces of power in the midst of the change of era in world geopolitics, and stop neo-fascism.

“I am very satisfied with the participation of the delegates. We had long days of debate and there is a consensus for the leftist social movements to agree in order to establish a program of common struggles, to continue advancing in conquering spaces of power and stopping neo-fascism,” stressed Julio Chávez, a member of the national leadership. of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

Chávez thanked all the delegates for their presence and stressed that everyone at the different working groups seeks a consensus to continue conquering spaces of power in Latin America.

Given these premises, Chávez stressed that by the year 2023 they are agreeing to maintain an agenda of movements worldwide, regarding the anniversary of the Monroe Doctrine.

In this sense, he indicated that they propose a year of anti-imperialist mobilizations in the world arena, as well as other activities to continue consolidating unity in Latin America and the peoples of the world.

“In 2023 we are agreeing on a year of movements worldwide, to convene all sectors of Latin America: workers, women, students, native peoples, to continue uniting the revolutionary movement in Latin America,” he said.

He reiterated that the year 2023 will be a year of challenges for the Sao Paulo Forum and he thanked again all those who have come. “We have served as an inspiration for many peoples of Latin America.”

“We must establish common fight plans to continue with the achievements obtained in the region and consequently we are living the times of the peoples from the Bolivarian perspective,” he added.

PSUV contributions

Julio Chávez highlighted that the PSUV is making contributions to the organization and “we have explained the entire renewal of the party at the tables, how we have been correcting and analyzing.”

For Chávez, «Venezuela is a great reference, and the resistance has inspired many to stand up to unipolar hegemony. A shining beacon, we are an example to the world. From Venezuela there are examples of resistance. We continue to delve into decision-making participatory democracy. We are a great anti-imperialist trench.”

deliberations continue

This Saturday the deliberations continue at the different work tables set up after the meeting of the Expanded Working Group of the Sao Paulo Forum, which is being held in Caracas.

Representatives from the five continents participate in the work tables, with the purpose of generating proposals that define the action agenda for the coming months.

During the work tables of the Sao Paulo Forum, different activists from various countries in the region share their visions of world political events and contribute ideas to strengthen the unity of the peoples.

Colombia

Senator Gloria Gómez, from Colombia, highlighted the impetus of progressive movements in America and stressed the importance of having common challenges.

«We are evaluating the social movements and our governments, we will put organizations such as CELAC and the debate on integration processes to the fore. A continent that gives turns to the progressive sectors, with Petro, with Lula », she added.

The senator indicated that there are “common challenges in the transformation of the economic model. Latin America is looking for the reindustrialization of the countries, we must promote organic agriculture, we propose planting the field, we must give the field a chance, she reiterated ».

USA

David Pavul, an activist from social groups from the United States, highlighted the importance of this organization for the unity of the peoples of the world and the confluence of solidarity groups in Latin America.

«I am here in the forum, I think it is very important, because in other spaces they talk about the importance of the unity of countries to face government interference and coercive measures. In these spaces it is important to strengthen the ties of the peoples and the representatives who are here », he said.

The Savior

For his part, Samuel Ramírez Beltrán, from the Resistance and Rebellion Bloc of El Salvador, stated that the Sao Paulo Forum is essential for the movements in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Venezuela is a model of struggle that motivates us to move forward,” he specified.

«With these blockades and attacks by the US to stop social and progressive groups, the forum is an example to move forward. Greetings to the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) for this great effort of the forum,” he added.

Chili

Esteban Silva, president of the Allende Socialist Movement of Chile, highlighted the role played and performed by the Sao Paulo Forum, as an expression of political confluence and action of the forces of the revolutionary left.

«I consider very important the role that the Sao Paulo Forum has played and plays as an expression of confluence of progressive forces in Latin America and the Caribbean. This forum has raised the consensus of America as an alternative proposal to overcome neoliberalism and savage capitalism in the continent”, he added.

Likewise, he stressed that “it is the unity and action of the peoples, of the workers, peasants, women, popular movements, which have advanced dignity in Latin America and the conquest of the social rights of the working peoples, which allows the construction of unity and the perspective of overcoming neoliberalism, the depredation of nature by transnational capital that puts the very existence of the planet at risk”.

In this sense, he stressed that “unity is so important to generate constituent processes of relationship between the peoples and the State, to generate international solidarity,” he said.

Concrete actions

The Sao Paulo Forum meeting in Caracas, at the headquarters of the International University of Communications, seeks to generate a set of concrete actions to deepen the rights and claims of the peoples of the world, in addition to confronting imperialism, said a message on the institution’s Twitter social network account.

At the work tables, experiences are shared on the electoral victories of the peoples of Bolivia, Honduras, Peru, Chile, Colombia and Brazil.

Installed in Caracas

On Friday the Expanded Working Group of the Sao Paulo Forum, in Caracas, with the aim of continuing to consolidate the strategic plan that seeks to move forward together to achieve sovereignty in Latin America and the Caribbean.

During the opening ceremony of the event, Adán Chávez, Vice President of International Affairs of the PSUV, thanked the city of Caracas for being chosen to hold the meeting again.
