In a single and symbolic vote, in which there was no nominal vote, but seven votes against and one abstention, the São Paulo Chamber of Councilors approved this Tuesday (12) the adjustment of 37% in the salaries of municipal parliamentarians. With the increase, councilors’ salaries will go from R$ 18,991.68 to R$ 24,754.79 from the next legislature, starting in February 2025.
The Chamber’s press office released a note on the salary increase. “The last adjustment approved in plenary by São Paulo councilors took place in December 2016. Furthermore, it respects the ceiling provided for in the Constitution, which is 75% of the allowance for state deputies”, explains the note.
