The city of São Paulo is promoting this Saturday (23) the D-Day to Combat Dengue and other Arboviruses, as part of the Mobilization campaign to Prevent and Combat Dengue: Don’t Let Dengue In!. The campaign began on the 11th and continues until the 29th. The activities began at 8am and last until 5pm, in all 479 Basic Health Units (UBSs) in the city and in six strategic points, distributed in the central, northern regions , south, east, west and southeast.
“The search engages children and adolescents as knowledge multipliers. In schools, students are being encouraged to create materials such as posters, presentations and educational games with the support of teachers and student bodies. This approach reinforces the culture of health and citizenship, essential for long-term prevention”, says the city hall.
According to the Municipal Health Department (SMS), all UBSs in the city will be open for vaccination against dengue for the eligible public, that is, children and adolescents aged 10 to 14 who live or study in the city of São Paulo. In addition, internal and external educational activities will be carried out, with guidance on the elimination of breeding sites, signs and symptoms of dengue, and the importance of seeking medical care.
Also throughout the day, CEUs and municipal schools will be open for workshops, conversation circles, educational presentations on the mosquito cycle and forms of prevention, as well as interactive activities involving students and local communities. The open units are CEU Três Pontes (East zone); CEU Jaguaré (West zone); CEU Heliópolis – Prof. Arlete Persoli (Southeast zone); CEU Alvarenga (South zone); CEU Parque Novo Mundo (North zone); and EMEF Celso Leite Ribeiro Filho (Center).
