Santos advanced to the third phase of the Copa do Brasil after beating Iguatu by 3-0, on Thursday night (9) at the Vila Belmiro stadium. For Peixe, the classification was important to ease the criticism it has received after not qualifying for the quarterfinals of the Paulista Championship.
The home team opened the scoring in the 16th minute of the first half, when Felipe Jonatan crossed for Lucas Barbosa, who scored with a header. And Santos extended their lead with another headed goal. Lucas Lima got up in the area at 33 and Marcos Leonardo did not forgive.

The number nine of Peixe was inspired, and closed the scoring at 31 of the final stage. Ângelo pulled a fast counterattack and played deep for Marcos Leonardo, who tapped for coverage to make the most beautiful of the match.
Another São Paulo team to score three times to triumph and advance in the competition was Botafogo-SP, which beat São Raimundo by 3-1 at the Santa Cruz stadium, in Ribeirão Preto. The tricolor featured goals from Lucas Oliveira, Diogo Silva and Robinho, while Carlinhos Souza scored for Mundão.
