The national deputy of Together for Change (JxC) for the province of Buenos Aires Diego Santilli affirmed on Saturday that the opposition coalition will maintain a “responsible and rational” position in relation to the agreement that the national government reached with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and considered that “it is difficult for him to see” a scenario in which the Executive’s project on the understanding with the organization is rejected by Congress.

“We are going to act as a responsible and rational opposition because we want Argentina not to go into default. We are going to wait for the government to define the proposal that it will send to Congress. We want Argentines to do better regardless of who governs. It is hard for me to see a scenario in which the agreement with the IMF is rejected,” Santilli stressed in statements to Radio 10.

Meanwhile, Santilli considered that “the country’s structural problems are much deeper than those that must be faced during a government period.”

“We have to see how we expand. We have to export more and continue to grow as a country. The best thing would be to have an agreement of ten programmatic points that do not change no matter who governs,” evaluated the former deputy head of the Buenos Aires government.

On the other hand, the legislator criticized former Security Minister Patricia Bullrich for having expressed her disagreement about an alleged offer by the head of government Horacio Rodríguez Larreta to his former adviser Florencia Arieto ahead of the presidential elections in 2023.

The former minister considered that there was no “fair game” in that approach, after a photo emerged in which Arieto was shown together with Rodríguez Larreta; Miguel Ángel Pichetto (General Auditor of the Nation) and Santilli, during a tour of the province of Buenos Aires.

“I do not share or understand the words of (Patricia) Bullrich. I walk with everyone. and proposals”, completed Santilli.
