The Ministry of Public Health intervened this Wednesday in the Cambodia sector, north of Santiago de los Caballeroswhere residents reported a plague of ticks whips them.
Anna Kendy Gómez, a veterinarian from Area I of the health entity in the city, explained that the institution’s intervention includes a continuous day of fumigation of the area.
“We are working in coordination with the mayor’s office to control this outbreak,” he said.
He explained to the neighbors that to put an end to this plague, continuous work is needed.
The veterinarian urged local residents to collaborate with the program by implementing personal hygiene measures in each of their homes.
Anna Kendy Gómez assures that there is no threat to human health with the presence of ticks.
Residents attribute the outbreak affecting them to the presence of stray dogs in the vicinity of the area.
They hope that the parasite’s abundance will be controlled following the intervention initiated by the Ministry of Public Health.
