At the end of the meeting in the framework of Santiago Peña’s campaign, in Guairá, the Colorado Honorary candidate mentioned that the US ambassador’s statements did not affect his campaign at all.
“This does not change anything at all. We send all our solidarity to our leader Horacio Cartes. We do not agree with the decision of the North American government. There is no ongoing investigation,” he noted.
He also indicated that Cartes is a person who is working tirelessly to be president of the Colorado Party. “Horacio Cartes is one of the most important businessmen in Paraguay. His lawyers will be taking action on the matter, “he said.
In the midst of questions, he also said that they do not share that designation, because it is not consistent with the evidence they have experienced.
“Horacio Cartes is a businessman who has been questioned, attacked but nothing has been proven about his management. This does not affect in the slightest. We are governed by the laws and we have registered candidates », he commented.

At this point, the candidate asserted that the polls give him a large majority and remain confident that they will be the next rulers of the country.
“The polls give a large majority, I believe that there is not one in the 260 districts that does not give Pedro and me as the winner and that does not give Horacio Cartes as the winner of the Colorado Party,” he concluded.
